Mey-Rin Cosplay Review

I actually don’t read much manga, the only ones I still follow are Berserk, One Piece, DNAngel and Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji). The first time I read Black Butler I was mesmerized by the art style and the story, so it quickly became a favorite of mine. So when Cosplaysky UK contacted me and asked if I wanted to make a review of their Mey-Rin cosplay, I was extremely happy!

Here is a link to the costume!

Just as with the other Cosplaysky branches, Cosplaysky UK allows you to either get the costume sewn by standard measurements, or by personal custom measurements. This is what I chose! Now I’m a tall girl (1.79cm) so I was a little worried that Mey-Rin wouldn’t fit me since she’s sorta tiny, but when the cosplay arrived and I tried it on it fit me very well! It was a liiiiiittle bit large, but nothing that I couldn’t fix. The apron was a little too big over the shoulders, but a hidden safety pin in the back fixed that in two seconds.

The only thing that didn’t really fit was the neck collar; when I buttoned the upper buttons the collar sat really tight against my neck, to a point where I had to unbutton the collar and flip the shirt to make it fit better (with the collar folded down). This could be fixed with a few cuts and seams from me, but I decided the collar was more comfortable folded down anyway, haha!

These pieces are included when you buy the costume;
  • Dark blue dress
  • Apron
  • White shirt
  • Head piece

As always, the cosplay is extremely well made. The fabrics are mainly cotton and uniform cloth, and all separate pieces came neatly folded in a well packed bag.

The main dress is a wonderful shade of navy blue, and zips up with a hidden zipper in the back. It comes with white cuffs on each hand, with black button sewed on. The white under shirt buttons in the back (I had to flip it though, as I wrote above) and comes with buttons both in the back and in the front, as should be. Since the shirt buttons originally in the back you might need someone to help you button it! The apron crosses the shoulders and fastens with velcro in the back. The velcro strap is long so you can adjust the size as you see fit. Along with the apron comes a white ribbon that can be fastened to the apron with a safety pin. The head piece has some gorgeous ruffles and can be tied either under your chin or in the back of your neck.
Something I do need to point out is that this costume looks so much better when properly ironed! The costume arrived ironed, but I chose to give it an extra go with my iron just to be sure. A well ironed dress in this fabric makes it look very crisp and neat and completely raises the over all impression!
Time for some ratings!
  • Comfort: 5/5
  • Size: 3/5
  • Accuracy to original: 5/5
  • Movability: 4/5
  • Quality: 5/5
Comfort: 5/5
I can easily say this is one of my most comfortable costumes!
I can move freely in it, it’s not too tight or too lose,
and even though I thought it would be very warm
it really wasn’t, even though we had a shoot in full sunlight!
Size: 3/5
The size of the dress and apron fit well, however
since the neck was too tight I had to flip the shirt to be
able to make the costume look good on me. This could probably
be fixed however if you sent in measurement specifically
for the neck (which I didn’t).
Accuracy to original: 5/5
This costume has the accuracy down to 100%.
Everything from the fabric colors, the cuffs and head piece
down to the exact right amount and look of all the buttons
is completely perfect compared to the original.
Movability: 4/5
I could move really well in this costume, proven when
we took photos with my guns where I got to climb around
the park benches we were shooting at, haha. However,
the apron kept sliding off my shoulders now and then, which came
off as slightly annoying, but could later be solved with a safety pin!
Quality: 5/5
The costume has an amazing quality, everything is well sewn
and the fabric choices fit the costume and the character.
The costume doesn’t wrinkle all too easily, even
after a long day of photoshoots. Great quality!
I have also made a video review over at my YouTube channel if you’d like a closer look
on the separate pieces of the costume, as well as a short movement test!
In the end I’m so happy with this costume, it looks great and I really feel
like a clumsy maid while wearing it, haha! Comfortable and good looking cosplays are
so great! I would absolutely recommend this costume to anyone who wants to be a badass sniper maid <3
Huge thank you to Cosplaysky UK for giving me this opportunity!

Anton Yelchin and the legacy he left for Star trek fans

2016 is a great year for many of us, but it’s also the year that has led to the passing of many legends and celebrities. We had to say goodbye to David Bowie among many others and now we also have to say goodbye to another important person for the great work, Anton Yelchin.

Despite being a very young actor and a truly rising star, Anton Yelchin was still a very professional, reliable and friendly star that was always ready for some good jokes and fun. Known for playing Chekov in the new Star Trek movies, Anton Yelchin was already a fan favorite and he managed to impress the people around him unlike never before. He managed to bring an entirely new, interesting and fun take on the coveted character and  many people loved him quite a bit thanks to his charisma.

While many people were eager to see him in the new movie, Anton Yelchin was preparing to head to a rehearsal that he had on the 19th of June during the evening. Since he has never missed a rehearsal, his friends were worried and turned out to his house at around 1 AM. That was the time when the friends saw that the actor was in the driveway, unconscious and with no signs of respiration. The LAPD spokesperson told us that he exited the car then the car rolled backward which led to trauma and in the end death.

The main trait of Anton Yelchin was naive yet sweet and that has managed to land him in quite a lot of great roles throughout the years. The way he got the Chekov role was very interesting, and the fact that he maintained it through 3 entries show how important and fun the character was for the Star Trek community.

He started to work in many TV series and movies. In 2006 he entered a great role in the Alpha Dog crime thriller and the next year he actually landed the role of RDJ’s troubled pupil for the movie Charlie Bartlett. Aside from the Star Trek movies, he also played in the Like Crazy movie with Felicity Jones and he even was Mel Gibson’s son in The Beaver.

These roles were very interesting and fun for everyone, but it’s the unique attention to detail that he placed into the role of Pavel Chekov for the new Star Trek trilogy that has managed to pay off immensely here. The actor even managed to win acclaim for the humor and the innocence that he had.

As you can expect, all the cast members and even JJ Abrams were shocked by the immediate passing of the start and everyone include Paramount Pictures wanted to show their support for the star. That alone has shown how important Anton Yelchin was for the entire group and unfortunately the world is never set to be the same without him.

Even if he passed at only 27 years of age, he did manage to have a very interesting career and one filled with blockbusters as well as incredible movies. Even other people such as Tom Hiddleston were deeply appreciative and offered support to the family.

The actor was born in 1989 in Russia and the parents who were figure skaters moved to the US. As you can expect, the family is devastated and they asked for privacy.

One has to wonder though, what does Anton Yelchin leave behind at this time? He actually managed to show us a lot of talent and experience in the movie industry despite the young age. He was a very versatile, professional and talented young man who worked very hard in order to achieve his goals.

From many independent movies to TV series and other interesting roles, Anton Yelchin did manage to enter our hearts and now they are empty because he is not around us any more. He will always remain in our hearts as the perfect Chekov and one of the best actors in the Star Trek trilogy. One thing is certain, we will never forget the hard work and commitment that Anton Yelchin had and how well he played the role of Chekov. Anton Yelchin will surely be missed by all of us!

Rise Kujikawa Persona 4

This review is re-blogged from

Hi guys , today I’m going to do a review for Cosplay Sky UK . They sponsored my Rise Kujikawa cosplay but they sell costumes, wigs and accessories for cosplay and more over 😀 their store is very well stocked, especially for the costumes, and the quality of every item is really high; I also got a wig from them and I can guarantee you that all the products are amazing. The communication with the sponsor was super fast and they always answer me in a polite and helpful way, but I don’t know if the actual communication with the store is fast as the one I got with the sponsor 🙁

The package arrived without problems and in a short time ^^ Inside the shipping package the costume was protected by a regular sealed plastic bag. I have nothing in particular to say about this point.

The cosplay is perfect , it looks like the pictures shows in the website and is very detailed ! Also for what concern the embroidery and the school’s logo. I was quite concern about the skirt fabric, as you know Rise’s skirt has a pied de poul texture, so I was scared that the skirt could be make with a different pattern or a low quality fabric, but when the costume arrived I discovered that the skirt fabric was super lovely and with a perfect pied the poul texture ❤ I’m really happy because the cosplay respect the character uniform in every single detail and the sites images show faithfully the costume .

The costume parts are :

  • a white turtleneck shirt

  • the black uniform shirt

  • the skirt, a yellow tie/ribbon.

The dress arrived also with a pair of black stockings included, but they kept falling off so I used a pair of kneesocks I already have.

When you order your costume you can choose between  pre-established  size or a costume made costume, create to order with your body measurements 😀 this is a very useful option, and the costume will fit you perfectly.

Actually mine was a little bit too large on the black shirt so I think in future I’m going to fix it a bit ( but it’s not a great problem ). In future I think I’ll change the yellow ribbon fabric and I’ll sew a new one, this because the fabric used is super shiny and satined and I prefere a more matt look ( but this is just my personal taste and maybe this thing doesn’t bother you too much )

I’m really happy and satisfied of this costume, I wanted to cosplay Rise for so long and they gave me the opportunity to wear a lovely and detailed uniform ! I really recommend you to visit Cosplaysky UK ‘s store because you can find a lot of interesting cosplay stuff and very high quality products  😀 I have a really nice experience with them and I hope to collaborate again with them in future
